I don't get the big deal. It shuts off only when the cabin is cool or warm enough, only when engine and tranny temps are up to normal, only this, only that. You hold your foot on the brake long enough, it shuts off, let off the brake and touch the accelerator, it fires up. It is saving fuel. Maybe not much but it is. If you guys and lots of others keep messin with it and coming up with more gadgets to defeat it, the time when there will be no way to defeat it will be here that much sooner.

Maybe because it's my truck and I want it how I want it? Perfectly acceptable answer for me.
I have the AutoStop Eliminator previously mentioned. I can't remember the last time I thought about the *** button, I have pretty much forgot about the truck even having that feature.

Forscan disables the Start/Stop feature by disabling the battery management system which works but I'm not sure that is a good thing for the battery especially in very hot or cold areas. Does anyone know if Ford beefed up the starter when Start/Stop was added to the truck? It seems like starting the truck 10-20 times a day would be hard on the starter and solenoid and reduce it's lifespan.

You guys are making this way too complicated. I have a 2017 Lariat with a 3.5. Open the hood and look at your battery negative post. See the single connector attached to the negative battery cable where it bolts to the battery post? Unplug it. No more auto-stop. That single connector provides the juice that runs the whole auto-stop system. That is all it does. Unplugging it will not have an affect on any other single thing in your truck. If you decide you want that stupid feature back on, plug it back in. Plain and simple.

The only way to turn it off without some trade off or another, is with the AutoStop Eliminator. It stores your previous button state, and if it was set to "off", it sends a pulse every time you start the truck, just exactly as if you pushed the disable button yourself.

Well, I am not a mechanic, but this fix was told to me by a Ford tech in a different state 4 months ago. When I had my truck at a Ford dealer getting leaking front struts replaced under warranty 3 weeks ago, I mentioned it to the service guy and the tech that worked on my truck. They both looked at me and asked how I knew that. Told them, and they said they had just learned about it a couple of weeks ago. I asked if unplugging it affected anything else and they said no,, and they had all unplugged it on their own trucks also. Also said that as far as they knew, it powered the auto-stop system and also powered whatever is back there that disables it when you plug in a trailer. I unplugged mine 4 months ago and everything in my truck works perfectly. But,,, I do not know a single thing about the Hall effect or the BMS. Could you explain those please?
