Delievery issues of Ordered 18 F150

Here is my situation I ordered my 18 f150 on 15th of February an was told by salesman 8 to 10 weeks tops. So I went an sold my old Cars off about a month ago on anticipating the arrival of my new truck that was built on 4/9 according to COTUS. My salesman was supposed to keep me updated throughout the process but only called me once to provide vin an email once during the 3 month build process. According to cotus it was to be delivered today actually was supposed to been delieved approx 2 weeks ago (still awaiting shipping confirmed by Dock 15 manager last week). So I called Dealer last week an spoke to the sales manager an told him how displease I was because no one could tell me when it was going to arrive. Kinda funny you can track a $5 Ebay item an not a $60k truck ! But anyway he said he would personally over see the issue. Well he called back next day an said he called corporate an they were giving him the run around as well . He said he managed to get personal # of dock 15 manager to see what the issue was an he told me the issues was they only could get day cab trucks an since the Kentucky Derby was going on they couldn't get motel Rooms for the drivers in Louisville . Since my truck was going convoy from Kansas to Louisville than to Nashville than to here. Anyway the sales manager was supposed to call me this past Friday with another update but I heard nothing from him I waited till 4 PM yesterday to give him a call . An was told he was with a customer an would call me back ASAP with a update after he was done . But didn't hear from him . I've already spent around 10k on stuff for the truck 4" BDS Lift kit , rims an tires , Borla catback exhaust, bakflip tonnue cover , weather guard floor Mats an Roush Intake . What should be my next step get ahold of the Dealer Owner ? Contact Ford Regional Manager ? Thanks

an was told by salesman 8 to 10 weeks tops.
First mistake: believing a salesman. If it is not in writing, words mean nothing.

Second mistake: Not reading the sticky at the top of the 2015 forum about tracking the VIN and ordering times. Much more realistic possibilities for actual delivery.

Not picking on you, but I learned my lesson on my first new house. Promised a move in date on new house, so I gave notice on my apartment lease, and they got a replacement tenant, no problem.

Spent 6 weeks in a motel until it was really finished. Live and learn.

yea I understand I guess I was more concerned with getting the OTD Price in writing. An making sure they had the options correct. The house situation I understand completely as well Built my second one 2 years ago an it went 27k over budget an month late requiring me to get dinged again on my credit score cause they had to run it again

If I was you, I'd cancel my order, head to a new dealer and re-order. Wait another 2-3 months for a truck.

Honestly, the dealers hands are tied. Do you believe they don't want the truck to come? That would rather "string you along" then deliver a new truck to a happy customer? The truck is in shipping. Shipping companies suck..... Delivery dates are not a simple thing to nail down unless it's a small package going common carrier. I deal with shipping companies all the time, an exact date is almost never possible.

The dealer most likely had no new information for you, and he was obviously busy. Not a great reason to not call you, but it happens. No one likes to call and get chewed out for something beyond their control.

I Understand what your saying but from reading everybody post in the thread posted above most people have already took delivery of there truck an they were ordered a week or more after mine. I deal with LTL companys , Brokers every day at my job I understand they sometimes run late but sitting on a dock for a month? Most I had stuff sit on my docks is 2 weeks at the latest . Hell I offered to fly out an pick it up this past Friday.

I agree that the dealer is not the one holding up delivery. But if you read the OP's first post, the salesman said "8-10 weeks, tops". If he had been upfront, and told him that unforeseen problems might come up, such as delivery or production delays, OP could have been better prepared. Just tell us the truth, not just what you think we want to hear.

Jeffj1, you are emotional, that's natural. But others on here are looking at your situation from a non emotional aspect. They are thinking more clearly. You understand that. Your only defense for your emotional thinking is "the dealer said". I know in your life you have said things which turned out not to be correct.
Take a deep breath, be thankful you can afford a new very expensive truck. It will get there, then you can start your payments. Stay cool. Enjoy the

stevehin, Yea I guess it being by first time ordering I'm a little impatient but when it arrives I know it will have been worth the wait. I just wish the dealer would have communicated more during this like they said they would have done at the time of ordering . The Way he talked he gave weekly updates to his customers that ordered their trucks. I like sticking to a schedule an I hate the fact that I feel like I'm holding up the suspension shop since I paid my deposit for the lift kit an it's been sitting there for 2 weeks . As well as holding my bodyshop up that was going to fit me in as soon as it left the shop.

2011 I ordered took 46 days.
2014 I ordered took 112 days.
2017 I ordered took 79 days............................It will get there when it gets there..

I placed order on march15th dealer told me 10 weeks. On May 3rd dealer called an said truck was on lot. Dealer delivered to house and picked up lease trade in. It’s all in the dealer , I think dealer padded time to cover his butt, it was a surprise to get early though. Been dealing with same dealer and salesman for 20 yrs. at least it is built, with the parts supplier fire, they have shut down production at Dearborn plant.
