Default Deals on Remaining 2008 F150s

I hear rumors around the office that remaining inventory of 2008 F150s is selling for 40% - 45% off sticker price. Do you guys know if there's any truth to this? Is Ford that desperate? Are some of the dealers that desperate?

Thanks for your input.

Default Dallas prices

I have seen Supercrew 4.6L XLTs for under $18k in Dallas. It is tempting but Fords are not in my future.

All SuperCrew Texas Editions and Regular Cab are 50% off in El Paso...Been like that since october...El Paso Texas. Also Las Cruces NM just started advertising 13999 off all of their remain 08 supercrew...

I know the th 50% is if you qualify for all of it...Example, about 35% of the discount are your usual rebated. 5% is military, 5% is student, 5% is Customer loyalty (if you are trading in another ford) I was looking at a super crew 5.4 texas edition (chrome package) and after my trade in it was going to be 15K...Not bad for a 32 thousand dollar truck. I ended up with an 08 FX4 and got it for 22 after my trade, warranty and TTL. Not bad for a 37500 truck. Got them to throw in tint, remote start, and alarm.

I bought my 2008 for about 1/3 off sticker last month, so yeah I can see that happening.

The one thing to rememeber is that the rebates are normally by the definition of a rebate after purchase, so taxes on the truck are calculated pre rebate.

If you have $7000.00 in rebates on a $27,000 truck taxes are calculated on the $27,000 to get the total, then the $7000.00 is subtracted from the total.

But still all the rebates and price cuts are great.

I bought mine out of state so I had a big check to write when I bought my tag. I knew it was coming, but when I looked at the paperwork, that's when it hit me about the rebates, because it said I paid $6500 more for the truck than I did. SO the taxes were really more than I had expected. Now if you buy in state and are financing it, all that just gets rolled into your payment. I paid cash for the truck, and for the taxes so it all hits at once.
