Dealer says "No floor mats" !?
Bought a 2018 XL super cab off a local generic lot. I know I will eventually wear a hole in the standard rubber flooring, so want to get some floor mats. Went to the Ford dealer to get some proper Ford mats to fit correctly. The parts department said they don't sell mats for the rubber floors. Not even Duratek. WTH? Other than buying ill fitting generics and trimming them, what options can you guys recommend? Does this sound right to y'all?

Maybe they slide around? That could be dangerous if they slide under your pedals. Do you have another vehicle you could take the rubber mats from to see if they slide?

My son has a 2013 with the rubber floor and I gave him my Weathertech mats from my 2011 when I traded it off as they won't fit the later year models.
They fit and work great in his truck. He still has them and they look almost brand new still. |
Check out Huskyliners as well. Have them in both trucks. The Ranger has the rubber floor, but with the "tits" on the back of the liners, they don't slip around.

I'll bet they have a policy to not sell floor mats for non carpeted vehicles as a CYA thing. They eliminate the liability for themselves if someone has a crash attributed to floor mats sliding up under the gas or brake pedal, more than not actually Having mats that fit. |
I have a 2002 Ranger with rubber floor and it does not even have a dimple where my right foot has been for 17 years. Also, it won't have the thingy that the WT and other floor mats fasten to. I would do without floor mats.

The Ford mats for the SD come with snap buttons that you install in the floor to keep the mats from moving. The drivers side has a magnet as well ...I am surprised the F150 isn't the same.
