I have driven my mother's Ram with the hemi and in honestly I like how they drive, it just doesn't have the payload I need. Chev/GM to me I would need the 6.2 V8 and I cant see me paying that much lol
One of my friends owns the GM dealer here and I still drive a Ford.

Steve - I don't see where my original post asked anyone for an argument....so, I think it is guys like YOU that are looking for some sort of testosterone infused attention by reading through threads you claim you have no interest in and then flaming the OP....and then returning for more. You can just as easily refrain from stiring the pot. The same doors are open to you. Your choice. 😉

I'm somewhat surprised that you found so many things wrong with your test drive vehicles.
I'm on my 3rd new F150 in 8 years and have been extremely happy with each one and not a single serious complaint with any of them.
A 2010 XLT with a 5.4, a 2013 Lariat with 3.5, and my current truck is a brand new '18 Lariat with the 5.0 and it's definitely the best of the bunch, the motor is very strong & fast, the transmission shifts as smooth as butter, the ride is very comfortable and the truck is so quiet I almost don't hear the motor sometimes.
Can't comment on other brands as the last Chevy pick-up I drove was my Dad's 1961 regular cab & long box and I've only ever ridden in a Ram a couple times and have never driven one.
Hope some day you find a truck that makes you happy but it seems all you want is to find fault with everything you look at.

I do like the idea of the aluminum body in terms of not worrying about rust.... especially living in salt capital of the world, Michigan.

What you don't know is that I decided to wait a while and see how the new Aluminum body fared, etc
My wife and I bought a new Jeep Wrangler Big Bear Edition with all the bells and whistles instead just last summer instead of doing the truck route. We liked it enough and decided to keep it for our 'fun' vehicle.
One play toy vehicle which we went into for a ride made for rough terrain is enough... so that is why I am looking for a more 'civilized' ride for our new edition. Thanks for your constructive contribution. Much appreciated.

Linear and fast would be the best combo to me.... the Eboosts seemed almost 'spastic' in their throttle response. In back-to-back test drive comparison, hopping right out of the 'quirky but spirited' Eboosts, the 5.0 did seem very lethargic.... yet the 5.0 would still have been my pick if the truck's ride quality were better. Not looking for a Cadillac equivalent ride, but if you created Frankensteins' monster and combined the interior quality and layout of the 2019 RAM - along with the vastly superior ride quality of the RAM.....with the body of the Ford and it's 5.0 V8.... then that would be a winning combo. I was probably too extreme in my description of the 5.0..... again, if the ride quality would have been better, I probably would have lived with everything else and went with the V8. True, there will always be shortcomings.... because everyone has different ideals of what is important to them.
People are quick to choose sides based upon what they own, without reviewing the alternatives. I couldn't buy the RAM for the reasons in my original post above..... but I am objective enough - - along with having actually having test driven both brands.... to say that RAM is far ahead of ALL the other manufacturers in interior quality and ride in their 2019 redo. You won't read one professional review that doesn't have the reviewer stating this as a fact. Ford, GM, Toyota, and Nissan could all (and no doubt are scrambling) learn some lessons about interior materials quality and layout from the 2019 RAM. Again, I couldn't own a RAM because of their engine issues.... but the ride and interior is top notch.

Do you really need a truck when a luxury SUV might be better suited?
I myself really don't get the cushy ride as a important characteristic especially when it come to trucks.
I've seen the interiors of RAMs. IMO nothing there leap years ahead of upper trim F150s.
