Thanks! Wow, that seems pretty substantial...I would be looking at a Lariat with 502A, 5.0V8, Tow pkg (not max)....chrome package w/sport pkg upgrade...and tailgate step. SuperCrew 4x4.

Thank you sir! I appreciate your sentiments very much. RE: Mods...... I had no idea that such things could be done....but it sounds like you tweaked yours to ride on a cloud.... that's pretty cool! Not sure I am brave enough to swap out OE parts for new ones.... but then again, I added some very mild - mostly cosmetic - mods to my 17' Wrangler and it was kinda fun. For instance: I took the front grille off and inserted a 'Black Powder Coated stainless steel' grille insert and then put the grille back on.... got rid of the original Big Bear Edition Hood and replaced it with a paint-to-match OE Mopar Power Dome Hood, and some other things....it is cool to personalize. Trucks and Wranglers have to be the most customizable vehicles on earth.'
As far as discount off MSRP, yes the general consensus as stated above is $7,000 - $10,000 less than MSRP. I would target that.
Re: Mods, if you do move forward with a truck and don't "love" the ride, I wouldn't hesitate to swap out the shocks. That's probably one of the single most popular and common mods people do to improve the truck. There are countless threads on here about all the options. They're "relatively" inexpensive and would not affect your warranty or anything like that. Keep in mind they're an upgrade over stock of course. You're making the truck better. Obviously go ahead and drive the truck stock for a while to get a feel for it, but if you decide you want a better ride, just know that it's available to you quite easily. And make sure to get 17" or 18" wheels so that you have more sidewall for cushioning.

Interesting, my F150 gives me none of the impressions you mentioned. I chose it over all the other trucks on the market after alot of careful research and test drives. And as far as the interior, I find it hard to believe anyone would think the Chevy/GMC is nicer than the F150. It took me every bit of 3 seconds to determine a 3rd grader designed the GM interiors and did it with the cheapest parts in the bin. To each his own, and I couldn't care less what anyone else drives, but I love my F150 and glad I bought it.

I really like your last post. Thank you. After a house, vehicles are probably the next biggest expenditure so it takes a lot of time and effort to get exactly what you want. Nothing wrong with being discerning. I know you have good intentions. I appreciate the detail and specifics, vs just yelling "this blows" and nobody knows why. You've provided specific examples which at least allows us to help address your concerns.
Like I'd mentioned earlier, you can modify to get a real cushy ride. 17 or 18" wheels with a simple swap of the front coil springs for a softer version with upgraded shocks front and rear will give you an amazingly cushy ride. To overuse the term, yes, mine "rides like a Cadillac". Speed bumps and potholes are nonexistent to me, let alone just bumps in the road. I built my truck that way. I'm sure people on here will help chime in with specifics for your particular truck. Thanks for your new post. I personally appreciate it.

I've had Bilstein shocks on a previous truck (a Ford Ranger) and they were awesome.
