Dammit.... Drove a Ford F150 for an extended drive - - just can't do it

I don't find the Eco Boost power as twitchy although I've been driving them for years!!!The 2017 and 2018 3.5L Eco Boost does have 470 lb.ft of torque that would feel twitchy if not used to it just saying!!The Ram might ride good but the rear coil spring setup isn't the greatest for payload or towing!!The 6.2L GM is only offered in the higher optioned trucks IIRC!!So if you aren't going to be towing heavy loads IMO sounds like none of the GM,Ford,Toyota and Ram trucks are for you!!!

I didn't notice back in 15' when I drove the 5.0 Lariat truck that it seemed like a "beached whale" of an engine, actually seemed pretty good. One thing that has always kinda pushed me away from Fords from about the 04' model on is they never seemed that comfortable to me. You mentioned comfort being an issue, if that truly is you might want to keep on looking around.

I gotta say, between this forum and the GM trucks forum I lurked on before deciding which truck to buy, I'm not sure which was full of more people that got butthurt when their brand of truck was criticized. I'm glad a few on here can be grownups and accept that nobody makes a perfect 1/2 ton. I see nothing wrong with threads like this, especially when the OP has legitimate points and has an open mind and isn't just brand bashing. If you don't like what he's saying, then stay out of the thread. You say he's wasting people's time, yet you're taking the time to reply, thus wasting the rest of our time reading your BS.

I've driven a few Rams and did find them very comfortable all around. I just fell in love with the Ecoboost torque when I drove it and had to have it.

Sooner or later you just have to be honest with yourself and everyone else. The reason you don't buy a new truck is you can't afford to. "I love the Ram but I'm afraid of the Hemi Tic". LMFAO. Go buy one and quit worrying about it. It'll be repossessed long before the warranty is up.
Quit dreaming and trolling and just move on.
People wonder how comedians keep coming up with new material until they read some of the threads here....

I'm not butthurt at all, I'm just confused as to what the OP wants in a truck. What he seems to want is a Ridgeline - nothing wrong with that, but he doesn't seem like he's going to be pleased if he thinks the F150 has a rough ride. The Ram definitely has the most car-like ride of any full-size truck, but then there's the "Hemi tick" he's so concerned about - just comes across as the type to find something wrong in any vehicle he tries out, and turn that little something into a big enough issue to be a deal-breaker. And his comments about the Fords having a cheap interior is laughable. All full size trucks anymore (especially if he drove a Lariat) are luxury vehicles compared to a car with similar features. The ride is silent and interior is more comfortable than anything you'll find. Those are all opinions of course, but are widely shared opinions by auto writers all over.

I personally enjoyed your post.
So why do you want a truck? At 57 I can't imagine you doing much farming or construction work.
At 52 I bought an older truck purely for utility reasons and registered it as a farm truck. For comfort I have an older model Lexus LS 430, that still has plenty of trunk space to make runs to Sams.
