All EcoBoost. Even the new Ford GT is a twin turbo 6 cylinder ecoboost! ;D

build a 4 cylinder that gets 400 rwhp, 550 ftlbs, and >30mpg highway and people will forget about v8's

I doubt it'll happen soon (years away), but at some point yes it'll happen. the ecoboost was a voodoo engine doomed to fail, right up until people drove it - no it's not perfect or all it was hyped up to be (read real world mpg's) but it's one hell of a step forward from traditional ideas of how to motivate a half ton pickup. 20 years ago even the NA 6 cylinder would be a show stopper for how much power it puts out - but now it's just average.

Sorry, But I will NEVER buy a 6 popper with dueling hair dryers. I'll ride the bus first. It's an age thang. Next up, they say they'll play v8 sounds thru the stereo while your driving so you can pretend.................

Just don't wait too long - that dinosaur will soon be gone as well:

http://www.carbuzz.com/news/2014/1/2...rever-7718289/

I reckon by the end of the decade (which is coming up fast, lol), there won't be ANY boat-anchors left in a pickup - and Dodge/Chrysler/Fiat will probably be the last to go.... since they, like GM do NOT currently have any viable gas V8 replacements in production ( please don't said diesel, lol).

Ford is waaay ahead in the 'Retire Barney' race.

I do recognize that testosterone-fueled manly men like yerself will , of necessity, assume the obvious position when faced with 'armageddon' ....

Ford already upset a large customer base by abandoning the Ranger. As a result, Tacoma sales have skyrocketed to this day...there are MORE 2016 Tacomas in my area than there are 2015+ F150's, and it only took the first 5 months of 2016 for that to happen...despite the new f150 being around for the last 18 months. LOL

And MGD, stop being so butthurt at the prescence of V8 fans. No one cares what you think about it.

Pretty much guarantee if 2 of the big 3 stop making V8s the last will continue to so they get the large customer base all to themselves who want a reliable V8. I just hope its not gmc, because I am happy to drive a ford or dodge, but damn i don't want another gmc after the last nightmare.
