i know that, they subcontract a local installer. Reread what I stated, the dealer promotes the bed liner by setting brochures and offers trucks with the liner already installed. Meaning that it doesnt take haggling and deep research to find out about it at a local dealer...."they practically throw Line-X brochures at prospective buyers".

oh, i read to fast my bad. but they dont do that here, at least not at the ford dealer we go to. i know the dodge dealer down the street, offers alot of mopar upgrades and stuff like that, but the ford dealers havent. i do know they had a 500 dollar wax job but he went back a week later and talked to the manager and got that free too. i cant remember the wax it was some kind of new stuff, i believe it started with a K. it claimed you wont have to wax your truck again or something to that affect.

i was with him the day he bought the truck. the salesperson had the brochures on her desk and was saying that it was really nice and she had her husbands done. it wasnt worth it, but since he knows everybody over there he got it for free. see my grandpa has been doing business with them ever since they opened the doors in the 70s and hes bought probably 10+ cars from them.

we were over there 2 days ago cause i'm looking to get an fx2 as well and they had an 08 f150 limited with a tonneau cover on it, but it was black and the truck was white and they added like a 1,000 b/c of that. you can get a ptm tonneau here for $800.

dont you just hate going to car lots though. i like to look and not be messed with and if i have a question i'll go get someone, i hate it when like 10 people are chasing you around the alot asking you if you need help with anything. i like going with my grandpa though cause when they see him get out of the car they just walk away, cause they know he only deals with one person. its kinda funny really.

Well, after I got $6,000 knocked off the price (21k down to 15k), they wanted $700 to install a Line-X and wouldn't budge on the price, saying "it was at cost." To me, it wasn't worth further haggling, so I took all the money I saved and went to the Line-X dealer myself. 490 bucks (after tax) VERY well spent. If I had been buying a nicer, more loaded, expensive truck, I would've fought for it more, but after getting nearly 1/3 of the price knocked off, I felt like I had done well enough when they wouldn't budge on the Line-X price.

If you can get a Line-X included in the purchase price through the dealer, awesome, do it! If not, it's still a worthwhile investment, as it will help keep your bed in good shape.
