Default Cooling fan noise when hot outside.

This is a video of the cooling fan noise my 2013 F-150 5.0 makes when warm/hot outside AFTER Ford Dealer reprogramed my PCM to fix a miss issue that did not fix that but this is Fords fix for a cooling issue I did not have and now say they can not change it back. What do you all think? Would you want to listen to this all summer? Have had many comments when stoppes as in "what the hell is wrong with your truck". Hope it opens and plays OK. Brad

Sorry, I can not get it to load correctly on here. NO, it has never done this until after the reprogram. Way louder than anything I have ever heard. Wish the video worked. Tried to delete the post but it won't let me until I can get the video to work. I have had this truck for almost 2 years and it was never ever even close to this loud until the day they did the re-program. It was an update in the PCM program that changed this to correct an issue I did not have. I have been in touch with Ford Rep. but no response with fix yet.

I'm usually in my truck when it's running so I'm not worried how it sounds outside.

Hi B-Magnum512,

I responded to your message this morning; let me know if there's anything else I can do to assist.

Crystal,
Is the loud fan noise normal or should we have the dealer check it out? I don't recall my 2010 making as much fan noise as my 2013, but figured that was due to the difference between th 5.4 and the Ecoboost.

Hi Joenomad,

I'm not a technician, so I'm not in the best position to offer up mechanical advice. Since you're concerned, though, making an appointment at the dealership isn't a bad idea. How many miles are on your truck?

Better to make a little noise to let you know it's working, I'm used to it you should hear my Ford Triton V-10 when the fan kicks in, now that's some noise.

Yep, it's normal, mine didn't act this way until I re-flashed my truck to the latest calibration, Ford included the fan duty cycle of 100% when outside temps reach a certain [temp (not sure of exact value)]

Nothing can be done about it. It's Fords way of trying to bandaid an issue for folx with **** poor a/c.

Roll your windows up, put the radio on and drive, when these cooling fans start grenading and destroying expensive radiator and a/c condenser assemblies they might change it via TSB or maybe even recall when bits and pieces of fan components start ejecting at motorist on the road with us.

Sux I know but it is what it is because Ford said so.

Ditto. I only noticed because I remote start my truck ahead of time, as I walked up the first time I was a little perturbed but knew what it was, then after digging found out the reason for the 100% fan duty cycle.
