computer tuning?
So I've been thinking lately about trying to tune my own truck. More of a thing just to say I can do it, and since I'm going to school in September to become a high performance mechanic. Especially now after putting long tubes on my truck I've noticed I've lost a good deal of mid-top end acceleration.
So does anybody have any incite in to tuning? Like are there any helpful articles, and what kind of software is good to use?
By the way the truck is an 03 scab 4x4 with the 5.4.

This is what you need, all in one pretty package. SCT Pro Racer software lets you tune your own vehicle, is pretty user friendly, and well laid out. Can only get it through direct from SCT or a SCT dealer.... Forget the exact cost but it's a couple hundred...

Yes it has really good instructions. You have to know your car stuff decently well though just to grasp the stuff it talks about but long as you have a basic understanding, should be fine. Main thing is to TAKE your time and read EVERYTHING about it before going and playing. I can check on what pricing would be if you want.
Another thing I would suggest is Greg Banish's book, Advanced Tuning. Can get it off amazon or ebay for like $16 bucks. I read it cover to cover and only understood half the stuff in it, to say it goes in depth is an understatment. But gives a ton of good info and just reading it will give you a much wider depth of knowledge of tuning.
