Hi all,

I have a 2019 F-150 3.5. In November 2021 with 45,000 miles on it I had all 4 Cam Phasers replaced and PCM programmed because of the cold start rattle. Since then, the truck ran perfect until a week ago, the same exact rattle came back. Since it has been almost 2 years, and the truck has 75,000 miles on it the dealer says it is no longer under warranty. It was just replaced 2 years and 30,000 miles ago!

I called Ford customer service to see what they can do for me. They told me to take it to the dealer and have them confirm the Cam Phasers are the issue and call them back.

keeping my fingers crossed they will cover this.

Anyone else have the cold start rattle come back after Cam Phasers replacement? So frustrating.

 

they have an update cam phaser, you probably had the old ones reinstalled.

 

I just had to have mine done at 160k miles which included the updated parts..........the service manager said the exact same thing, years back they were replacing under warranty with the old parts and when they failed again it was on the customer to pay for the repair......
