Welcome to the forum... The extra sound it gives off is from sucking in air... if your truck is queit you would be able to hear a loud roar coming from the intake... probably wont be able to hear it with loud exhoust..

I noticed a good difference in the sound when I installed the CAI on my 03'. I already had a Flowmaster with a turndown installed prior. As for overall noise, the biggest change is during WOT acceleration (big growling sound). But for normal driving you'll just hear the sound of air being sucked through the open filter and the occasional whistle. As for power difference, you can probably get the same and save some $$$ by doing the Gotts Mod.

Thats what I was wondering, if having the new exhaust, Flomaster 40 series, 2.5 in-out two 2.5, going from 2.5" to 2.75" and ending with straight pipe of 3" would drown out any sound that I would get from the Intake, tryin to add some sound anyway I can and add some performance at the same time would be great, any ideas for what brands and types that would work best with my truck?
