Default Clock spring help please

Search did not get results.... Amazon shows a ton of clock springs which DO NOT fit my 1996 F150.
I don't have extras, like cruise control, etc.
Can someone lead me to the CORRECT clockspring replacement?

Reason for replacement: My A/C diverter sometimes works right, other times no. There is a lot of wear and tear on my steering column with over 200 thousand miles. I need a key switch (its about to fall out). So I want to replace the clock spring too. I have no warning lights on.
Thanks much.

Clock spring has 3 functions for your y/m, cruise control, horn, and air bag. Has nothing to do with the A/C.

That is much appreciated! So the intermittent A/C thing is caused by something else!
The key switch is very worn, so I wonder if that is part of the problem?
When i say worn, i mean it feels like the pieces will just fall out at any time.
I am preparing to order one.
Anyway- thanks for your knowledge

The key part of the switch is strictly mechanical. It connects to the electrical part via linkage in the column. It will not cause any problems other than not being able to start or stop the engine.

Doesn't the key control some circuits such as wipers, radio, some other stuff?

(Thank you for your time)

The key controls the ignition switch, which turns on and off anything that runs on accessory, like the radio and a/c. The clock spring has nothing to do with that. The clock spring transfers signals from the steering wheel down the column, because you can't just use wires or you would twist them up when you turn.

No, like I said it is only a mechanical device that connects to the electrical switch, and that controls all your electrical like radio, wipers, etc...

You should be able to get the OEM clock spring from the dealer, if that's what you need--

I'm not sure about anything on Amazon...

'96 is the bastard stepchild of the '92-'96 generation. Many '95 parts are the same, which should include the clockspring.
