Default Clicking in my engine?

I have a 1993 5.0L V8 F150 and i recently about a month ago cut the muffler off. I now have a clicking in the right side of my truck and it sounds like its coming from the engine but im not sure. My truck has also gotten alot louder than it was right when i cut the muffler off. Can someone tell me if there might be a problem that causes the clicking due to my muffler being taken off?

Default Could Be:

I saw a post recently that cat converters can make a ticking sound due to sound wave patterns through the device.....I'd never heard of it before, but the source seemed reliable. My LTC 4.6L makes a gentle ticking noise that sounds like a slightly loose rocker. I can hear the noise from inside, but cannot detect any noise under the hood. Perhaps the converter is the source. I hope so.
