Default Cleaning rims

Hey guys &gals,
My rims are starting to pit a little bit and I was wondering what the best way is to stop/clean it. Soap and water with a a wire brush and some chrome polish again with a brush. Any other ideas that won't harm my rims??

I use maguiars cleaner wax and a terry-cloth aplicator. Works well even on abused trucks.

When I had chrome, I didn't use anything stiff or anything with bristles.

I'm just trying to brush over the pitting and into the corners. I might use a toothbrush

I do have the mother's polishing ball. Never thought of using it with wax, though.

I use the ball and cleaning wax on my bumpers, grill, side steps, wheels and f150 badges.
