Changing Engine in 86 f150
I have a 86 f150 5.0...I'm going to be putting a 96 f150 5.0 Engine in it.I am taking fuel inj. off and putting aluminum intake and holley 4 barrel carb on it.I will be using the 86 aod trans.I'm putting a single wire hookup dist.I understand I will have to change the gear on dist.what starter will I have to use on the engine do to using the 86 trans on 96 engine???is there a fix for the tv cable on trans for holly carb???understand it does not work right with holly carb! any help would be much appreciated

Your starter should work, I don't think there is a difference as far as the mounting and gear.
As for the distributor gear, I would use the one specific to the '96 motor.
