Default CB Radio Install Locations

I'm looking at installing a CB radio where the ash tray is on my 05 FX4 - has anyone done this or does anyone have better potential locations?

Thanks,
Cory

Mine is mounted to the dash, left of the steering column.if you mount there, make sure you have the door closed before you drill any holes. I was lucky...

It's out of the way and easily accessible.

Uniden pro20 xl.

See 'My Garage' for pictures.

how did you mount the antenna in the stake hole? I mounted mine inside the box for so I can use it for now, but I'm looking at getting a rolling cover down the road.

  • Firestik Fire-Flex ® Stake-Hole Mount With Cable Mini-Kit - Firestik MK-294R
  • SPRING SHOCK SS HD UP TO 5'
  • 3' FIRESTICK II TUNABLE TIP BLACK
  • Uniden PRO520XL 40-Channel CB Radio

Bought everything from Amazon for $108.67 in March 2012.

The mount could be better grounded, by the VSWR and reception is acceptable.
