Car dealerships are crazy!
Guy walks out of a dealership with a great deal and gets arrested for it?
Real life is the best entertainment sometimes.

Yeah, they did have the guy arrested. Now, he is suing them for $2m, for false arrest and imprisonment, and he will win for sure.
If you or I paid $5k too much for our truck, the dealer wouldn't be looking for you to give you a check, and you would have to live with the contract you signed. Same thing here, the dealer should have just lived with the contract they made.

Now he has an arrest record ....
When the question is "have you ever been arrested" : "YES" has to be the answer ...
Traffic stop ? Cop will be very uneasy because he sees an arrest record ...
Have you ever been falsely arrested ? Have you ever been detained for four hours ?
He deserves compensation ...

If the story is as stated, he'll walk away with no record and something for his troubles...
I'll bet that dealership already regrets it given the negative publicity it will generate.
Somewhat same thing happened to my Mom, she traded in a car that was wrecked and repaired at dealership body shop nonetheless. They didn't find out until after the deal was done and wanted to re-negotiate the deal. She, rightfully so, told them to F off.
Funny how the dealer doing the repair stated, "Hey, this is a repair at a dealership, your car will be returned to you like new with OEM parts."

Why is everyone getting on the dealer? Dealers don't "Have people arrested." It doesn't work that way.
Cops arrest people.
The dealer is guilty of being a jerk. The cops are guilty of abject stupidity. That's where the investigation and lawsuits should be directed.
