Can Anyone Explain the Ford Parts #ing System
I've got some power fold/power extend tow mirrors with power heat, adjust, memory.
The label on it says:
Can anyone with the power fold/power extend mirrors confirm that they are
DL3Z-17682-AA MIRROR ASY - REAR VIEW OUTER
DL3Z-17683-AA MIRROR ASY - REAR VIEW OUTER
I've asked Tasca parts, but have not yet got an answer.
I know KR Kodi did the mod. I'm hoping he can chime in if he remembers.
I just don't understand Ford's part system. Why can't they just put the part numbers on it?

Engineering numbers are what your likely seeing on the part itself, they are never the same as the part # in the books.
That's been my experience my entire career with and ownership of Ford products. Why they do that I have no clue.
