Suspension lift:
- Increases the center of gravity more than body lift (remember the engine/frame is lifted too) - Suspension/handling performance will change, for the better or worse depends on too many factors to list. - Avoid blocks, they are dangerous and increase spring wrap. - You may have problems with:
- The kit is cheap, but there are a few modifications which raise the cost:

I vote to go for the suspension lift man. Its always better to save up thr dough and do it right. But if you don't do a lot of off roading or a lot of towing then the body lift may be what you want. Its really advised against just because it is really nothing more than a cosmetic addition that allows you to run bigger tires. Thats just my .02

I have a fabtech 7.5" on my 01 2wd and love it. Eventually I will add a 3" body lift. I hear what you are saying about being young and not having much money. I am only 19 myself. The only reason I got the suspension lift was because I got it half priced and I wanted to do the install. Honestly I'd go suspension if you can afford it.

ya suspension is the way to go, you get better ground clearance, so you can go in deeper mud w/o hopefully getting stuck. body lift also has issues with center of gravity, its higher so it can roll easier....or maybe its vise versa...
but go suspension, more worth your time. |
hey thanks guys i think that i am going to go with a suspension lift at pep boys small one only maybe 3.5 and then crank t bars to make it 4in

Sounds good dude. Post up some pics once you get everything done.

If you have a 2wd, like in your avatar, you can't crank your torsion bars because you don't have any...

not really, you can get spacers to level it. and blocks to raise it in the rear. thats what I did and it works for me. cheap. and i had my buddy who works at a toyota dealer help me...using his shop :) and it was FREE!!! total project: $40 spacers + $22 blocks= $62 for 2in of lift.
