Best years to lift...look good truck for work
#11
If you're looking for a good work truck with decent mileage, an 04-08 with a leveling kit and nice a/ts or m/ts could be a good compromise. Can find them for a reasonable price, it will look custom without being over the top, and you can definitely get more than 15 mpg hwy. Not only that, but they still look (and have the benefits of being) new and stylish, which may be an advantage over an older generation truck. I have used mine as a work truck for the past 5 years and I still average 14-17 mpg hwy with 35" mud terrains. Also, if you're actually planning to use it to do any work, the bed will still be at a reasonable/reachable height.

Ok so I'm under the impression that gas mileage is also an issue here.... Have you thought about a 92- 96 f 250??? They come with a diesel which get better gas mileage... they have a solid front axle which makes them easier and cheaper to lift also... just throwing it out there for you

Do you get fuel perdiem for your work? I had a 96 with the 5.8 4" lift with 35's I would get consistantly 14 mpg now all trucks and reviews are different I just took care of mine real good and babied it. if you are driving long distances maybe you want a 96-97 powerstroke 7.3 especially if your able to get fuel reimbursement

Just call me sean. Really
My '91 300 with 31s still pulls in 18 highway... You shouldn't have to worry about 15 mpg highway. Just know that if you're driving 200+ miles a day, you're going to fill up every other day
