Best type of mud tire
I have toyo open country m/t,they look great and work good to.but they don't seem to last long since I'm on highway some to.i was just wondering what tires have worked best for yal.like how long they have lasted and how they perform in the mud.hopefully someone knows a good tire that lasts awhile and performs great to

If you're looking for long tread life, an M/T isn't the tire for you LOL.
I have the Nitto Mud Grapplers, and they perform really well in all conditions. I guesstimate that I'll get around 40k miles out of them :) |
i would say thats not bad for an mt^.. knew someone that had bfg frugged trails that lasted fewer miles, by far.

to be honest! if you have the extra cash when you wanna purchase your next set of tires, i would go with the Nitto Trail Grapplers ....thats my next tire! buddy of mine has them on his 04 and they crawl good in the mud and don't get caked that easily!

BFG KM2's /thread
Ive heard of em going 60-70k. theyre a harder compound than most, for example, the nitto mud grapp is excellent in off road conditions and probably on road too, but with it having a very soft compound it will wear a lot faster too. my procomp A/Ts are extremely hard,, to the fact where i have to run a lot lower psi to get em to run right. |
trail grapplers are great too:

Like I said, they perform well in all conditions. They are pretty loud at higher speeds, but it's a true MT... what else do you expect? One of the most aggressive looking tires out there as well. |
^yeah, how to you like the roar? lmao. sound like a freakin bomber coming down the road
|
Nitto Trails are the only MT I've ever driven on but I love them so far. Just went out today and got good n' dirty. Performed great in some thick mud. Not looking forward to the short tread life/replacement but that's what you get for buying MTs

The BFG KM2's or the Maxxis Mudder Buckshot, they clean out really good in the mud, and last awhile on the street. The Dick Cepek Mud Country is a great mud tire as well, on and off road.
