Best time to buy a King Ranch

Forgive me for a question that’s been asked, but my forum search has yielded conflicting answers that are a few years old.

I’ve settled on a 2018 King Ranch. I love the look and plan on driving the truck for 10 years, might as well do it in style.

I plan on buying in Nov or Dec, but my question is whether there is another time of year with better deals and incentives? Will I miss out by waiting the few extra months? I’m assuming this will happen when the 2019s hit the lots in the fall, but I haven’t followed prices the last few years.

Thanks in advance!

Tag on question: I’m in the Southeast and it looks like most of the high volume dealers are in the Texas area. It looks like I’d benefit from buying in that area and just driving to pick up the truck (even though incentives are location dependent). Am I missing something?

There is no "best time". King Ranches are rarely discounted much. XLTs have the most rebates. Rebates go up and down depending upon regional inventory and corporate sales targets. While you may find that later in a model year the cost of an on-the-lot truck drops, so does choice. The later you go in the model year, the less you'll find that meet your specifications. For much of the country, you'll rarely find lots full of King Ranches, maybe different in Texas.

I strongly recommend that people utilize Ford's X-Plan to avoid the weeks, if not months, of work to find the best deal when they have no idea what they are doing. Then, if you want to order, you can, having your dealer lock in the incentives at time of order and then you get your choice of incentives at time of order or time of delivery.

I will be ordering a Ford car, probably a Fusion, in mid-May with the intent that it comes in just after the new July rebates kick in, giving me the choice of rebates at time of order or time of delivery, since they will have changed (although they may also be the same dollar value).

Rebates will be applied for where you live, not where you buy from. A good local dealer will do a dealer trade within a few hundred miles to get your business.

Nice choice. I ordered my king ranch march 27th. Haven't seen too many rebates out there, rick is correct that most are for the xlt. I had to build since i couldn't find a single king ranch in the country built to my specifications.

I think the Thread Starter bought a Platinum, according to his last few post a year or two ago :). He hasn't been back to the Forum in around a year :(

When I was looking if you get $5,000 off the Msrp on a King Ranch that's good.
