I had an access on my 2002 and now I have a Truxedo on my 2013. I would say that the Truxedo’s are better just because of costumer service. If you have an issue they will send you all the parts to make it right for free. I had to pay $100 for shipping to get parts for my Access when the Velcro needed replaced. My brother has a Tonno Pro cover that he likes if you are looking for a budget cover. They don’t quite have the fit and finish that the Truxedo but aren’t bad for the price.

Default Roll up cover

I had the dealer install the factory roll-up cover on my 2013 XLT.

Happy with the fit, protection, etc. Only glitch is the cheesy securing system used when cover is rolled. Two small velcro tabs with the bed-mounted tab constantly difficult to reach, dropping down between the bed and cab when not in use.

On the roll ups it looks like there are only two rails in on each bed length, what goes across the tail gate and behind the cab ??

And the fold ups, can you fold all sections so you have full box access ??

On the roll-ups (mine is the Ford OEM) the tail gate section of the cover is secured with a rigid latch-in-place that secures to both side rails and snaps securely on top of the truck tail gate itself. Behind the cab the cover is secured across the entire width of the bed.

Some are held in with a slide type thingy that locks it on the side rails, some others are thru bolted. They don't move. My Truxedo has the slide type, my Access has the bolted type, but it's 14 years olde, they may have changed.
Just do a "Google", most makers have installation instructions on line.
My Truxedo is the LoPro QT, I've had it on a '12, and now my '17. Very well built.
My Access, is the LTD. As mentioned, it's 14 years olde, and has held up great thru that many upper Michigan winters.
I treat both 2-3 times a year with Aerospace 303.

Guess I wasn't clear:

1) on the fold up covers, does EVERY section fold so the last section folds against the cab so you have FULL length access to the box ??? Or does the two rear sections fold on top of the section behind the cab and you loose that room ??

2) on the ROLL up covers. Looks like they only have two side rails, what holds it across the tail gate top and across the bed behind the cab ??

thx

There is a built in crossmember in the cover that locks on to a built in latch on the siderails in the rear.
There is a built in crossmember that locks onto the rails in the front.
Google?

TruXedo is definitely one of the best manufacturers when it comes to soft roll-up covers. If you're looking for the best priced option, I would take a look at the TruXedo TruXport. You can usually pick this model up for around $289.00-$309.00. This model is very well built and comes with a 5-Year warranty. If you're going for the highest quality models, I would recommend looking at their Lo Pro QT or their PROX15. Both of those models are extremely low profile and will enhance the appearance of your truck. You would be looking at a higher price range but the quality is much higher and they come backed with a lifetime warranty.
