Best engine for me

Its those 4.10 gears that make it feel like a dog. You should see what a 5* tuned on 87 EB with 3.15 gears in a SCrew SB felt like.
I also believe there is a difference in the PCM programming, regardless of a tune on the later models compared to the 11-14 EB, even with a tune my 16 feels sluggish with 3.55 gears.
Man I miss my 14, that truck was a beast, stupid ice.

I bought my 14 used about a year ago. The 2.7 wasn't an option for me. The 3.5 and 5.0 are essentially a toss up if you don't tow a lot. They both get about the same fuel mileage with a slight edge going to the V8. If you tow much weight, especially at altitude or in mountains the greater torque at lower rpm's give the 3.5 a real advantage.
I was on the fence and could have gone either way, but was able to buy a 1 year newer truck with 10,000 fewer miles at the same price with the 5.0 vs the 3.5. Since either engine will pull anything I'll ever hitch to I went 5.0 and after a year and 21,000 miles have no regrets.
I have no proof to back it up, but it is still my belief the V8 will get to 200,000 miles with fewer issues. But I'm not concerned enough to rule out the turbo engines. If I needed the power I'd buy one.
If buying new, I'd seriously consider the 2.7. If the truck is equipped right it will still pull anything I'll pull. It is considerably cheaper and the one engine that gets 2-3 mpg better than either the 3.5 or 5.0.

Displacement even with turbo's is always better with more cubic " ,a mouse motor will wear out faster than a big motor turbo's or not. Take yer pick its a crap shoot these days
