Im 27, truck came with the cap but it is very nice to have in the winter time. Id like to remove it for the summer but I cant afford a Tonneau cover right now. The ONLY complaint I have is that it does create some blind spots whie backing up.

I specified the back up camera option and the reverse sensors when I bought my truck 'cause I knew I wanted a shell. They work great, and I can back into spaces that would scare me in my Civic Si.

I had a tonneau cover on my truck when I bought it. It was alright, but working construction and always needing to haul lumber in a 5.5ft bed and a tonneau was a real B****! I recently sold the cover but when my parents get rid of their truck I am hoping to get their regular topper and repaint it to match. I could see myself rocking one with a basket on the top and light bars galore haha im 23 btw **** im getting old

I'm 17 and I would have to say toppers are for old people IMO, although they are really quite functional

I'm 27, my old truck had a cap on it when i bought it. I took it off for the summer but would put it back on for the winter. I wish I had one for my truck now. I don't think it's an age thing so much as functionality.

That was the 3rd thing I took off my truck when I bought it. Just not a fan but I can see them being somewhat useful.

I am selling my ARE topper if you are interested...I too live in MI. It fits 09-current for shortboxes. It is also posted on Craigslist currrently.
