Default Battery?

Battery fried after I had a light directly to it.. The battery always corrodes to no end. Fix to this? Here's pics.. The wire looking thing was a bolt. The red cover had black ash like stuff on it.

New terminals, or clean those up, new batt, and some anti corrosion spray coating. You can get it at any parts store.

Also youve probably found out already but batt acid is gnarly stuff id wear rubber gloves just to be safe and wear clothes you dont care about the acid will eat through your clothes.

You could also go with a gel filled battery like an optima or odyssey. Kinda pricey but good batteries.

Yup. There's a mix to clean em it's like water and a salt. I forget what it's called. I'll wait till the battery goes to determine a new battery. Might get new terminals. How much of a pain to put new ones on?

Kind of a pain. The crimp/bolt on ones arent real good. Right way imo is new cables. You can probly just clean the ones you have if thier not totally corroded. But ya the stuff i was reffering to isnt the baking soda/vinegar (or whatever) cleaning solution its a spray that remains on and protects against corrosion for some time.

I had a similar issue with my old Ranger. Turned out a hairline crack in the case. You might check that out

Baking soda. Pour it on dry. Then slowly put water to it and watch it clean everything up. Might take a couple of washes.

Spray can of battery corrosion preventer. It'll last a long time. Coat both terminals and connectors.
