Back up warning for this?
When I put this hitch ball protector on, my back-up warning signal sounds? Whats up with that? Remove, no warning???

Are you asking a question or just venting?
I usually keep my hitch shank under the back seat when not in use. Another annoying thing is in the winter they frost up and beep. But I'd rather have them than not so I'll gladly live with it

Sorry for the lack of info on my part. ?
Why would the addition of the tiny hitch ball cover cause a back up alarm? When I remove it it stops. Really just curious. Is it that intuitive to see minute changes?
Did it get calibrated to the hitch without the cover?

Too dark? Maybe it is just easier for the sensor to "see" than the ball itself.
Cover it with some white tape and put it on again see what happens. Maybe it is too shiny. hit it with some flat back paint? or ruff it up

Weird, I have a cover on my hitch ball and it sticks up even further than that one and my back up alarm don't go off. I wonder if one of the sensors is overly sensitive/malfunctioning or out of alignment. Perhaps one of the mods you used Forscan to perform is causing it?
Lots of possibilities.

I think it's the concave top reflecting the sonic wave back at the detector.

So now we can rule out the concave or rounded top being the culprit. I would still question now to IAJack, is yours shiny and black also? reflective surfaces will trigger easier. Look at a stealth fighter. No shiny surfaces.
