Back Up Camera Reversed Image

Looking to add a backup camera to my '05 FX4. In my research I've been seeing pictures from different cameras that have a warning saying "Caution Image may be reversed" - Has anybody run into this when installing an aftermarket camera?

Right now I'm seriously considering the Pioneer AVH-X391BHS receiver and an aftermarket tailgate handle camera (simple RCA jacks and power/trigger). What I don't want is to get it all installed and then find things look backwards on the screen (that seems like it'd make the whole thing kind of pointless).

Anyone?

I would assume that if you bought a high end setup, you would not experience that. I would contact the vendor first on the model you are leaning towards, if possible.

Even a cheap ebay backup camera I bought for my daughters car, displayed correctly.

I've never had any kind of issue like that and have used cheap, eBay cameras on my last three vehicles including my current truck with no issues.

The (aftermarket) back up camera has a menu button on the monitor and one of the thinks is to set for "normal image" or "reversed image". Cant imagine WHY anyone would want that but it is there. So maybe yours does also?

I checked my settings. Fixed guidelines, camera delay, and something else. But I didn't see that setting. I'll check again in the A M.
Thanks Joe

I had a cheapo from Walmart I installed years ago, it had 4 different settings for the image. If nothing is listed in the manual contact a service rep.

I have a 2010 F150 Platinum and for some reason the image has reversed itself. I have a console nav system and have gone thru all the menus looking for a reverse image option but it is not there. Has any one else experienced this glitch or know how to fix it?

The cameras need to be replaced. Sometimes they'll display upside down, sometimes they reverse, etc when they go bad
