Default Automatic Climate Control

Hey guys, I just bought an 06' FX4 screw about 2 months ago. Hadn't occurred to me until just recently now that it's been getting dark earlier that the buttons and controls for the a/c and heat don't light up at night with the dash and radio... has anyone elsen noticed this? I looked in the owner's manual to see if there way maybe a setting to turn them on and off but i came up empty handed... i guess it's not a big deal, just seems strange. it is kidna hard to know what button you're looking for at night while trying to concentrate on the road. Let me know what you think.

P.S.- been waiting for years to upgrade from my ranger...love the new truck. i'll have pics up eventually, just busy and broke being in school right now. nothing like a FORD!!!

Default a/c

does the panel light up during the day? do you have the auto panel, or the dials..... it might be something simple.. I change the LED's in them to different colors, and there could just bo something wrong with the way it was plugged in last. Pull the panel up and out from where it meets the ashtray, it'll pull forward, then reach up and pull the clips up higher, till the top comes loose, then you can undo the top (airbag light) plug, this will let you fold it down some. then unplug the long connecter on the right side of the a/c panel, look for broke or bent pins. reconnect, test, see if the dimmer is all the way up also. If it still dosen't work you can pull the ***** off, then take out the 4 star bit screws and pull the panel loose from the plate. pop the 4 snaps, and open the panel. undo the 3 star tips screw in there and lift the green panel out..... see if there is a burnt spot in any of the wire traces on the circut board. If you have a buddy with the same sorta truck see if you can plug it into his to see if it's your panel... or your truck. You can find them on EBay for @ 20-50 bucks. Let me know what you find.
