My 2003 SuperCrew. It's been flawless for the last 175k miles. Still going strong.

For driving feel and quality I would definitely say the 2009+ F150. As for all time the lightning and Raptor are very cool but I always thought the 1956 F150 is the coolest truck ever made! FYI - seen at 35s into vid!

Default Best 150

A '97 XLT Supercab; 4.6 Windsor; automatic; 2wd; shortbed. 200,000 plus and the only part of the engine/transmission that required replacing is the water pump. Yes, have had my problems but nothing that would cause me to want to get a new one.

My 2000s goin strong but i would have to say the old 89' 4.9l is a very reliable truck, way more miles than the odometer can count and only problem is the dead battery. "6 in a row makes her go"

2010 Lariat Screw 4x4, exactly what I have. I got my dream truck, and after 13.5 months of ownership, it still puts a smile on my face everyday. I love the 09+ generation. The 04-08 generation is solid. But I've never liked the 97-03 generation

Unless of course you are upgrading.
They're only more reliable because they don't have a billion miles or they haven't been sitting in a garage waiting for the seals to deteriorate.

I'd take one of the old stepside Fords from the 50's. They're super classy and clean and if you keep the visual modifications mild (no Cragars, no neon colors, no slamming it), then there isn't a cooler truck to have. It's not going to pull your new International or your mini yacht, but it looks good and it makes you cooler just by association.

If I needed a more practical truck, I'd go with the 2005 F-150 Lariat SuperCrew with the 5.4 and tow package. It's got all the capability most folks would need, but plenty civilized and good looking. I didn't pick the latest generation because they're tacky and I hate them. Out of the 11th gen, I picked the 2005 because it was the last year that they came with the rectangular fog lights and I think the round ones look stupid on a boxy truck.
