arguably what is the best year f150 ever made.

based on:

function as a pickup as well as enough style to take the wife to dinner
most reliable
best drivetrain / dependability / power
feasability of shadetree mechanic to make general repairs without 10k worth of tools

basically if you had to pick 1 F150 to drive for the rest of your life what year, model, trim package would it be?:D

2011 king ranch loaded ecoboost 6.5 ft bed

As far as most reliable, I think the 04-08 4.2L V6 F150 has won the most awards for most reliable pickup ever built.

But I personally would take a 2011 6.2L lariat 4x4. :D

1978-1984, manual tranny, any engine (except the V-6, yes, it existed, briefly)

Easy to work on, few issues, and tough as nails with twin I-beam front ends and 9" rear.

I had a 1980 which I abused the hell out of, and it never gave me any trouble.

Honestly, gone postal is probably right, just because you can work on and fix most everything yourself. Before computers ran everything in vehicles. very reliable trucks to

Only proviso with that gen F-150.......keep plenty of spare durafart modules on hand, and make sure you have the right color connector.

On the contrary I think vehicles today are much more reliable.

Yes, older are easier to work on but id rather not have to work on it period.

Unless of course you are upgrading. :)
