Anyone ever hit a deer?
After seeing gwstangs cool pics of his 8 pointer I had an idea to ask if anyone on the board has ever had a vehicle collision with a deer, so far Ive hit 7, one on my motorcycle, there's never been any major damage to which ever vehicle I'm in, ironically my 05 screw would probably be the safest thing to be in if I ever hit another deer but god damn it would break my heart to see it smashed up from any kind of collision.....any stories?

have a buddy who hit a deer while riding his bike. [motorcycle] doing 40 mph. totled the bike and put him in the hospital for a few days. broken arm, leg and some cracked ribs. and he killed the deer, the end of the handle bar gored the deer. he said he never seen the deer coming until it was to late. we still laugh about it.

ive hit 5, between my car and both my trucks, and im only 18 lol. i hit one with the car, no damage at all, 2 with the f150 both grazed the passenger front corner putting dents in a fender that was already meant to be replaced, and 2 with the s10 which already had the grill, bumper, right headlight and passenger side fender busted up in an accident. i may have hit 1 or 2 with the s10 on purpose though.... lol

No, But a Deer Hit Me:
I'd just finished work and was heading home....had to drive past the lighthouse on Pier Road, Cape Canaveral. I'd just got on to the road and I saw a buck and five does on the left side of the road across from the more heavily-wooded side. As I approached slowly the buck darted across the road and into the woods. One-by-one the does followed in the exact path the buck had taken. By the time the fifth doe decided to cross, my car was in the buck's path and the dam*ed doe ran smack into the side of my brand-new '72 Toyota Corolla and put a big crease in the left-front fender!!

I use to drive about 40 miles each way for work and at odd times as I worked shifts. I liked the 2nd shift (3-11pm) so I saw lots of deer going home at night. Hit some and missed some. I finally figured out that the louder the muffler (cherry bombs worked well) the less deer. Guess the noise warned them before I saw them and they fled. I do have one little story where I definitely just about poopooed in my easter basket.
I had left the water plant at 11 pm one spring night on my Yamaha 1100 Silverado motorcycle. Rural setting , just cruising along about 55 mph and up ahead I spotted a doe just sticking her head into the edge of the heavily wooded roadside. I started slowing down and as I approached where she was at, I was down to just a slow crawl. Well, she did exactly as I figured she would do. Turned and started back into my path to cross the road. I slowed and got into the other lane (no traffic) and she continued into my path. Well, finally she ended up right where I stopped. Her head was resting on my right arm with her muzzle right in my face (helmet). I reached over with my left arm and pushed her away and she took off around the front. She was just standing there gently pushing forward on my right arm until I pushed her off. I guess she was a dumbfounded as I was at what this creature was doing in her path...lol. I had to stop for a few minutes and recover and check my shorts. I have had some close calls but that was the closest on a motorcycle. I was shaking. I can only imagine what would have been, if that had been a moose or even a predator such as a cougar or such. I have seen bobcats at night, even whacked an owl on the bike one night that zipped in front of me. Had a few feathers on the front foot peg, but the owl got up and flew off. I finally figured out that night time riding on a bike is not a wise endeavor.
