Think Cuba.
Or, if the new vehicles available were the same as the old vehicles still on the road, but with fresh paint, there would be no incentive to buy new. Why would you?
I know for a fact that I sold my 2010 Lariat, with 40+k miles, and bought a 2016 Platinum, strictly because of all the new high-tech safety features, better fuel economy, more powerful engine, and unbelievable creature comforts (massaging seats!!). There was not a thing wrong with my 2010 when I sold it.
While that 1995 F-150 pictured in Post #140 is very pretty, if it has the 5.8L V-8, it is rated at 210 HP/325 torque. Really??? That is what you want to go with?
And for icing on the cake, 11 mpg/city, 16 highway, 13 combined. Those were the "good old days"?

Actually, my truck has the straight six and a five speed, and it gets 18-19 mpg. And it's very comfortable to drive and it suits me just fine, just like yours suit you! We're all part of the Ford family, and I meant no disrespect to anyone that wants to buy a new truck. I just happen to like my old one.

What I've learned over the years is those that do not buy new vehicles is usually because they can't afford them or have bad credit or both. Human nature to want the best of the best, hell I'd be driving a Ford GT if I could afford it.

Case in point: I do love my truck, but there's something special about getting in my dad's '94 that I can't put my finger on. It doesn't steer as well, it's not as comfortable, gets way worse MPG, is drastically less powerful (though it feels much more powerful than modern engines with similar hp/torque numbers), but it is still a blast to just cruise in.

A lot of the modern features are options or government mandated. Some of it will be phased out if it's just a bad idea. I'm thinking the trailer backup assist will be gone eventually. Kinda neat I guess, but I don't see myself using it. Same with Fordpass. Knowing my fuel level and where I parked is not an issue to me. I don't need maintenance reminders, and I don't need to remotely unlock my doors or start the truck, ever.

Fascinating, so you like climbing in a vehicle that's been baking in the sun all day and roasting until you get the windows down and the a/c going to cool the interior off? I can kind of understand that as I never had a vehicle with remote start before I bought this truck and let me tall ya. I'll NEVER own another vehicle without the option (no longer an option thanks to forscan). Same thing goes for the winter, sure you must also like freezing your ***** off until the heater gets the cabin comfy right?

If the temperature is that big of a deal I walk outside, start it up, and go back inside for a couple minutes. I could sit on my rear and push the button from inside the house, but to me, paying for that convenience is unnecessary.
