Any Issues with 2018 or 2019 F-150?
I have always been a Chevy man but this time I'm gogin to either get an F-150 or a Ram 1500. I think in todays hi tech manufacturing world there are no real "dogs" but some have more small issues than others.
On the Ram forum there are many complaints on the engine going from 8 cylinders to 4 at crusing speed. Are ther any real things about the F-150 that bugs you??? |
ah the lovely multi displacement system

See my latest thread, horrible vibrations when switching between 4H and 2H, air leak drivers door (I fixed my self), rear clunk on uneven pavement and low speeds coming from rear end. Other than that is fine. 4wd issue is getting addressed at first oil change this weekend...
Ive owned all Chevys before this, really loved the interior space and value I felt I was getting with F150. I'm not going to rush to quick judgement just yet, but I never had to do anything other than oil changes to my Chevys...just saying.. 2018 F150 XLT 5.0L Super Crew 4500 Miles |
the f150 is by far more durable. also, when you look at the reviews, you will see that the f150 has better ratings

Take what you find on these forums with a grain of salt. With the amount of trucks sold, there will ALWAYS be a percentage with issues. I can tell you from experience, that 4 out of 5 aint bad. I have owned 5 F150's an 01, a 12, 14, 16 and 18, and only the 16 was a nightmare. The only thing I can say with any certainty is they are very prone to driver felt vibrations! A bad tire that would not be noticed on the previous gen, WILL be felt in the new gen. Don't know if it is because of the aluminum body, a design flaw in the body mounts, or what, but I know my Plat is vibrating from a bad tire, a RoadForce Elite balance proved it.
No matter what brand one gets, it's always going to be a crap shoot, even with Toyota, the queen of reliability. My only advice, find what you like, drive it, and pay attention to everything it does before you buy it. I myself was a P hair close to buying a 19 Ram 1500, but two things held me back, 1st year new model, and its a Fiat. I stuck with Ford because I have had very good luck in the past and I know it can tow what I have. |
Only 1600 miles so far and no issues. I’m ok with auto start stop but do turn it off often. Get better mileage than my 2000 ranger with 4.0. |
No issues with mine
2019 XLT with 1400 miles on it... no problems yet. Auto start/stop can be easily turned off if you don’t like it. |
no problems, doors were a little problematic three months ago but two minutes time fixed that
