Ask the "guy" to show you the documentation for the "problem". First post I recall seeing regarding this.
Also, you can tell him that one ADVANTAGE of the aluminum body is that when the aliens try to pick your truck up with a magnet and haul it into their spaceship they can't get a good grip...
And that the part of the truck that says "Coors/Budweiser" from the recycled cans doesn't really show through the paint...

Curious if it is a 'window' leak or satelite antanae leak like many others...
But as was stated... Window leaking is not an Aluminum Body issue (Uless it is a bonding/attaching agent to the body issue. otherwise all my beer would leak out of the cans. That would be horrible...

Yeah... I did not mean to make that analogy. It was unintentional and there is no hate.
I was actually more concerned about my beer and the OPs corelating a leaking to the aluminum chasis of the truck... but can see how it reads now... Sorry.

smh, still with the beer can analogies
I don't think Panzer meant it in a bad way.
Me? I just ask those ignorant people if they would prefer to own a vehicle made out of aluminum beer cans, or a vehicle made out of old, steel, pork 'n beans cans. Because that is what is in automotive steel today.
Steel cans are the most recycled food and beverage container in the world. In South Africa and Japan recycling rates for steel packaging are close to 90%, and in Belgium the rate is 93%.
Steel-to-steel recycling means that a steel can is just as likely to become part of a bridge, a car, or a ship, in its next life. Steel is 100% recyclable. It can be recycled any number of times without loss of quality. It is one of the only materials that does not lose its properties when recycled.

FWIW, I didn't believe the guy, but he says he's driven a couple (company he works for has a fleet with 6) and a couple leak. His theory is the alum expands and contracts differently than steel and requires a different seal. I'm not a metallurgist so I thought I'd ask here. Guess this is the humor forum and I need to find the engineering forum LOL. Anyway I have to believe Ford did/does extensive testing, and it's so rare that it's a non-issue.
