Full size...yes a 1911 is hard to conceal, but they make smaller versions. They come in 3, 4, and 5 inch versions.

After the all the craziness going on in the world, doesn't sound like a bad idea to invest in a Glock and get a CCP. Starting law enforcement classes in the fall!

Took the words out of my mouth. That's crazy, but glad your ok. I got Fam out there, that's scary. I heard a CC licenses is pretty easy to get over there.

But second time, something is not right.

I have no reason to doubt the op's story...have had weird stuff happen to me also for no apparent reason. As far as letting people know I have a gun what's the problem with that. I have a few... I also am American and it is my right to legally own them (at this time at least). I for one just wanted to let the op know that he might want to find a way to defend himself if the need arose and having a firearm and knowing how to use one is one method. I hope to God I will never need to use mine for anything other than target practice but if need be it's better than being a sad news story.

I whole heartedly agree. I know there are probably better ways to going about getting out of that situation then using my truck as a battering ram but I honestly panicked and that's all that came to mind. As for a gun, I will be spending time at my local range and I will check out the XD, 1911, and others mentioned here. I will be taking classes and I will be ready (god forbid) if this or some other situation happens.
