I like you Ford guys ! :-) It's like nearly all of the Ford guys can appreciate a tough, outdoors'y, camo highlighted truck, while the Toyota guys mostly all hated camo..... and kind of seemed a bit yuppy uppity or something. {But in case one of them sees this.... their are a few cool guys over there too though ;-)
It also kind of felt like those guys wanted a fast, pretty race car..... instead of a real truck ! When I'm ready for a sports car, I'll buy one. But right now, I want a nice utility vehicle....
Peace,
Fish

I usually only buy what I need but I don't really NEED a truck full-time. I have had dual vehicles in the past and it's just too much hassle dealing with maintenance and such for me right now. So, I bought a truck because I prefer driving a truck (helps keep me out of tickets) and sometimes I need one. Nobody really needs a 3,000 square foot house either but people buy them all the time. I look at it as a buy what feels right to you.
As for the Ford vs Toyota guys, I guess we're Ford Tough just like our trucks.

{and your pulling a light boat too, although mine might be 40 or 50% lighter even, than yours}
How does your 4.6L do ? Will it pull your boat up a good sized hill, without having to beat the heck out of it ? What kind of fuel mileage drop do you see when pulling your boat on the freeway, as opposed to freeway driving without the boat ? (please.... please tell me its not that much.... but of course I have to know the truth....
And I guess the big one is; In retrospect, are you glad you got the 4.6L ? ....or would you have gotten the 5.4L if you knew then, what you know now ?
Thanks much,
Fish

Well hey NGM, and Naplesbill...
you know you are, and I will likely be, in the minority with out little 4.6L V8's.... But I'm hoping that if you have gotten 22.5 on the freeway, without a trailer, that I will be able to pull my little (ultra) light aluminum boat down the freeway, getting 18mpg...... Hell, that's all my old, worn out Toyota Tacoma gets... with a freaking 4cyl !
Then again, I guess even 18mpg won't be affordable, if gas climbs to freaking $5 or $6 a gallon !!! Urgggg.....
Thanks again NGM,
Fish

Honestly, if the little 4-cyl Tacoma pulls it without a problem I don't see what difference a 4.6 vs 5.4 is going to make. Either way you'll likely be satisfied.

hey since we are talking bout vinyl, would it be possible to get vinyl solid black and use it to cover up the chrome bumpers on my truck and not have to worry bout it peeling off and it look pretty good, my truck is solid black with a black tool box and the windows are blacked out, and i hate the chrome.
any suggestions would love to hear them.
