I was in Alaska last year and loved it. What do you plan on doing up there?

Wave as you pass Urbandale (on the west side of Des Moines), which you'll do if you're on I-80 .

If you're going to keep on 80 through Colorado, be warned that the trip from Omaha to Denver is the most boring, flat, straight (usually windy) dive that you can possibly do .

We took I-29 up to I-80 and headed for Rapid City, South Dakota. We had a head wind so didn't get the 20 mpg this time. Could have probably got 19 but when we hit the 75 mph speed limit, I couldn't resist and set the cruise at that speed. Mileage dropped to 17.9. The truck performed great at 75 mph.

We saw our first pronghorn antelope on the way to Kadoka, South Dakota. I won the prize for spotting them first. Only drove 529 miles total for the day because we couldn't get a motel in Rapid City for less then $125 a day. So we stayed in a nice little motel in Kadoka.

Will be leaving early today for Great Falls Montana. Hope to have more photos on my next post.

The truck has 39,863 miles on it, has burned 2105.7 gallons of gasoline for an 18.9 lifetime average. I will give reports on how the truck does on mileage and performance as we drive all the way to the Arctic Circle on our 6 week trip.

We have a topper on and will be taking an Amish couple with us so don't look for photos of them.
That is awesome. Hello to you from SC and GA. Have a good and safe trip. I'm going to have to follow this thread to see how y'all doing. Alaska is the last state I have left to visit then I can say I have been to all 50. Enjoy. And that's a good looking truck too.
