I was in Alaska last year and loved it. What do you plan on doing up there?

Wave as you pass Urbandale (on the west side of Des Moines), which you'll do if you're on I-80 .
If you're going to keep on 80 through Colorado, be warned that the trip from Omaha to Denver is the most boring, flat, straight (usually windy) dive that you can possibly do .

We saw our first pronghorn antelope on the way to Kadoka, South Dakota. I won the prize for spotting them first. Only drove 529 miles total for the day because we couldn't get a motel in Rapid City for less then $125 a day. So we stayed in a nice little motel in Kadoka.
Will be leaving early today for Great Falls Montana. Hope to have more photos on my next post.

Unique & Different
We are leaving on our Alaska Trip tomorrow morning at 6am. We are all packed and ready to go.
Our truck is a 2012 F-150 Screw with Ecoboost engine and 3.55 rear end. We have a 6.5 foot bed. We also have a new set of Michelin Ltx truck tires.
The truck has 39,863 miles on it, has burned 2105.7 gallons of gasoline for an 18.9 lifetime average. I will give reports on how the truck does on mileage and performance as we drive all the way to the Arctic Circle on our 6 week trip.
We have a topper on and will be taking an Amish couple with us so don't look for photos of them.
