Airaid Intake?
Am considering a Airaid or K&N cool air intake system for my 2012 F150 Ecoboost. Are these really worth it? Do you really gain anything?

There hasn't been much proof yet showing that intakes really add much power for the ecoboost. One member dyno before and after with the afe stage two and got one hp difference. That being said, doesn't mean they don't work. Better breathing engine is always good

I plan to put one on for better filtration, keep more of the gunk out!
On my last vehicle my pops laughed at how dirty my K&N was, to which I responded my paper filter didn't get that dirty and I didn't change any driving habbits, better to wash it off a filter than ingesting it through the engine! He ended up with an aftermmarket one soon after for the same reason...

Our kit for the Ecoboost is one of the better performing systems we have! I respectfully disagree with others that say there's really nothing to be gained with our kit. Here are the dyno numbers:

We don't mess with our numbers in any way and we calibrate the dyno regularly. Several EcoBoost owners have reported substantial "butt dyno" increases as well. This is not to say that a tune and exhaust systems are not also beneficial; in fact, with an intake-exhaust-tune combo, each mod helps the other. Hope this helps!

I wanted the Airaid but was told its not put yet for the 2012 3.5 Ecoboost so I went with a K&N intake so I hope this performs well?

Well the K&N intake sounded good at first then I started hearing a "thumping" sound so I am taking it off? Did anyone else have this problem?

Not sure where you heard that, but our kit does indeed fit the 2012 EcoBoost. We modified our existing kit and it will now accept the different sensor used on the '12. The part number for the kit is 400-239-1. This change took place 4-5 months ago. Hope this helps!
