Default Air conditioner fully charged but still blowing cool

My 1996 F150 is fully charged with coolant, but the air conditioner blows slightly cool air. Not much better on MAX. What should I look into next?

Next look at blend door. Could be letting heat mix with the cold when you don’t want it to.
Also verify the ac compressor is cycling when you switch the ac on. A full system won’t cool if the compressor isn’t working.

Someone with the equipment and knowledge to properly diagnose the system, you can throw parts at it all day long and never fix it.

I second this...If your not trained in ac work, you can make things worse and more expensive.

It could actually be over-charged, especially if you charged it yourself. Easy to over-charge with the kits.

I agree with the last 3 replies. You don't seem to be qualified to diagnose or repair an A/C system.

Not surprising since the coolant has nothing to do with the A/C system, which uses refrigerant.

If you meant "refrigerant": exactly what did you mean by "fully charged"? Did you evacuate the system, vacuum-test it, and then charge it? Exactly how much (of what type) refrigerant is in the system now? How much (of what type) oil? How much dye?

It can be a lots of things on a 22 year old truck...

1-Do you hear the A/C Fan coming on when you press on the A/C button?
2-Did you test the compressor to make sure it was working? Do you hear it cycle?
3-Is your cabin air filter clean?
4-Did you make sure that the blend door is not letting hot air coming in?

Honestly, we'd all be pissing in the wind on this one. Too many variables. Swing by a shop with the right stuff (like others have mentioned). If you start slinging parts, charging yourself, etc., you can mess things up
All of the others posted things that could cause some of what you're experiencing, but have it diagnosed first.

Sounds overcharged to me also. I would:

1 evac system and check for leaks.
2 open system and change or clean fixed or if ace valve
3 vacuum system
4 recharge with correct amount

i would also clean condenser and check fan clutch, if equipped.
