Thats the reason I said "dorman type" There are other manufacturers that get higher reviews. I'm not doing the research for you. Have fun.

After all this talk I ended up ordering the Tech Era set and a micro add a fuse. A buddy and I are going to do both our trucks this weekend if it doesn't snow.

Had them on a previous truck and lasted one season.

No but want to ask them what to avoid and what they found to be junk and what they found to be reliable, etc, etc, etc.

I put the cheap Chinese kits into my old Bronco (with newer Econoline Club Wagon seats), and they're still working fine a few years later. This & the NEXT two captions list the details:

In that kit, there's virtually nothing to fail: a common relay, a simple switch, some wires, and the Carbon-fiber heating elements. If you hardwire it directly to a switched fuse, you don't have to fight the nanny modules.

I installed a SoJoy carbon fiber kit in my truck this summer and have been using it twice a day, everyday for the last 3 weeks and it works great.

Installed and aftermarket kit. My fingers hurt but it was worth it! I tucked the extra wires in under the center console. Used fuse 36 in the cabin with an add a circuit.
Turned out really well. Did my friends Chevy 2500 too. He had zero extra fuses that were switched.

I also have a 2011 XLT and added aftermarket heated seats. I used the 40A always on circuit for the inverter (which I don't have). then tapped a switched circuit under the radio for the controller. I have a thumbwheel controller mounted to the right of the Sync connector. Settings are 0-10 for each seat. Has worked for several years. I removed both seats and the center console to run the wiring under the carpet. Also vacuumed a bunch of junk that had accumulated.
