My dry weight is 3000lbs. And what I would upgrade too might depend on the engine I have as well but most campers that are way nicer with mine will probable weight at least 5000-6000lbs dry from what I have seen out there.

You might upgrade is like comparing apples to a watermelon.

It's like saying if I won the lottery. It could happen. But no foreseeable future but day dreaming and wishful thinking.

I got a 2010 5.4 3v, I wanted this engine, because its got everything I want/need and I didn't have to pay interest, extra taxes etc.

The 2.7 would be more than enough truck to tow a 6 to 7000 lb trailer.

The 3.5 will do it as well.
Once past the 8000 lb you should be looking at 3/4 to f250 imo.

My two cents for what it's worth quite literally every newer truck has its issues. Before I bought my 23 f150 I had thought of a tacoma or tundra. Tacoma had too little payload and towing for truck stuff imo. Tundra newer gen with the v6 has been plagued with issues! I have a insane amount of regard for the old v8 as much as you can have for not owning one at least. With all that being said new 3.5s, 5.0 (Coyote) and 2.7 are pretty ironed out from what I've seen. I had some apprehension towards the 10 speed as well and they are a bit bi polar but a service plan if you worried is peace of mind. Depending on mileage drove I paid a few thousand to extend out my factory warranty to 6 years 100k. Bought it with 11k worth every penny. Chevy has lifter and trans issues, ram has a new power plant unproven. The hemi while long in production years has design issues that lead to lifter failure in most cases just a matter of when. Long story short pick your poison and for my money ford is where its at. Drive them all and make the best decision you can.

Another 2.7 here. Love it. Great engine. Can't to wrong.
