Finally have all parts installed. Ended up with wrong harness the first time..it had parking sensor plugs with fog lights. Got the right harness now and forscan changes done. Calibration hasn't been done yet but even setting the cruise mode to normal doesn't allow normal cruise to be set...lets me turn it on and nothing more. Is this expected?
Of course I probably should take the laptop back out there and check my work.
Now I need to find someone with IDS around Chicago

yes, that is normal - I tried the same and mine did not work either.

Drive to SE PA and I'll calibrate it for you!

Yeah...actually heading to niagara falls in june with the camper but I don't want to wait that long!

Looking here the calibration was similiar but it auto started the calibration:

Possible Ford took away the auto alignment as they wanted the calibrations to only be done by a tech? Any hope the same service procedure for the mondeo could be done here? Tried even finding a picture of the sensor in the Mondeo to see if it was similiar and failed miserably as fordparts uk doesn't even list a 15 mondeo...

Edit: meant to add has anyone mentioned/asked this of the forscan devs?

ACC is excellent and I use it daily.

I was towing our boat to get the hubs replaced (should have done that myself) and the collision alarm went off when a car cut me off getting onto an onramp. It scared the bejeezus out of me! lol

I was able to install all the parts last week and then update the Forscan code and run the sensor calibration thru IDS last night. I can confirm that it works, and it works GREAT!!!

Thanks to everyone in this thread that paved the way. Truly excellent work.

The only area of confusion that I ran into that I sort of fudged my way through, that could be clarified for anyone else installing this later on, is the mounting and vertical alignment of the sensor.

Mounting the bracket is easy but I wasn't 100% sure how the sensor was to be mounted to the bracket and then what exactly was used to make the vertical adjustment. I think I have it right, and it work, but I'm not sure.

The sensor fits onto the 3 studs that get screwed into the bracket (it is a 5mm star socket for the studs iirc) The two fatter studs go in the bottom of the bracket and the thinner stud goes in the right top location - I don't think they can go in any other way.

Slip the sensor over the studs and tighten the nuts (after applying thread locker) to 9lb in. Any more than that and you can damage the grommets.

The vertical adjustment is made by turning the top right stud. Out will lower the sensor and in will raise the sensor.

Make sure the truck is level and then use a very small leveling device (I used the level from a square just like the OP). The sensor face is actually concave, so use a very small level and use the center of the sensor.

I believe the two fat studs which on on the bottom get tightened all the way into the bracket, whereas the thinner stud on the top right you start with it tightened all the way in, but loosen it in order to get the horizontal adjustment correct (i.e. make sure the truck is level and then use a square level).

I've attached a .pdf which I had received from another user on here (I think it was Livnitup who originally pulled this information from the service manual for me). It somewhat describes the process within this, however it doesn't fully explain if those bottom studs are tightened all the way in.
