Adaptive Cruise Control *Added*
Hi Everyone. I am new to this forum, not new to this industry. I have an ongoing thread on another board, but thought I would share on this platform as well.
I have a 2016 F150 502a, that I have added the adaptive Cruise Control components to yesterday. Still working on enabling the ACC function with IDS, didn't have any luck last night using IDS and another VIN. Might have to try a different approach. I will post a parts list once everything is complete.
Before..
I have briefly seen FORscan on these threads, but know nothing about it. Seems like a good idea if I can modify the AB data line by line. Might be the trick to making it go live instead of using an as-built from another vin. Once it's live, I'll calibrate the horizontal radar alignment with IDS and will be G2g.

Shoutout to livinitup. I made all the changes except for the ABS module, that one had me stumped. I sent him my AB data for my ABS module and he replied back and had me change one number. The guy is a wizard.
Took it for a drive tonight. Works like a charm.

Oh man, that's awesome, congrats. I really want to add this, but after looking at your pics not sure if I'll take it on. I never really knew i would like it until i drove my wife's Jeep GC overland and it's a must have for sure....... I'll add it someday.

Do you have the tech package in your 502A?
There is another thread on this - and it was thought that the mirror was the key to ACC... it seems from your pictures that in fact it is a sensor in the front. Interesting.

The IPMA (mirror) only handles lane keeping and auto high beam. Its also a different IPMA for just high beam control and the lane keeping + high beam control. Im **** deep in adding lane keeping to my 502a and have read more than i ever wanted to know about the system.
Adaptive cruise uses the front bumper mounted "radar" sensor for distance.
The key is getting the modules to utiliize the data from the sensor.
No one has done it yet (as far as i know) and the big question is if its just a change in the bcm or if it includes things like the pcm, etc.
Im hoping its just a "flick of the switch" in the bcm.
You will also need IDS in order to calibrate the sensor.
Im hoping the fine gent here gets it working so its just a matter of ordering parts, a Forscan change and then hook up my IDS and then good to go.

I've got IDS, I've been a diesel technician part time for roughly 6 years. I picked up the trade while pursuing my bachelors degree.
To summarize progress thus far:
1. I've programmed from an AB and calibrated the CCM
2. Enabled ACC in the BCM
3. Enabled collision warning and HUD in the IPC.
The ACC system is still not active yet because of (2) modules:
1. The steering controls(?) control module (SCCM) recognizes the new switch on the wheel and has thrown a communication fault. Pressing the on/off button does not produce a response on the IPC yet.
2. The ABS module appears to need a change in the instructions to enable the automatic braking function. The pigtail leading into the module has the HS CAN II wires ran, as well as a fuse in place for the automatic braking which I why I am confident the fix is in the programming.
The modules that I am certain are involved with ACC are the following:
CCM, ABS, SCCM, IPC, BCM and PCM.
There may be more, but this is what I've seen so far. More to come soon.

I paid to play with this technology the easy way when I bought my Platinum. I'm just curious how much your into this project (cost of parts)? I'm sure the others that may think about this would want to know too.
Good job so far. Not sure I would want to be the trail blazer on this project.

My first car with adaptive cruise was (is, since we still own it) my wife's 2013 Lincoln MKS (bought in 2012). I went four years enjoying the feature in her car and being frustrated at times when using cruise control in my previous F150.
Is it a necessary feature...obviously not, but it's pretty nice on the interstates and 55 mph two-lane highways without a lot of stop and go. A lot of times I'll set mine a few mph's over the car in front of me.
