1- Do you currently own a Ford? Yes.
2- How many months has it been since you purchased your current Ford? (answer only if you currently own a Ford) Mine? 28 months. My wife's? 10 months. And I have another on order.
3- Approximately how many months will it be until you purchase your next automobile? I'm hoping 1 or less.
4- How many Fords have you personally owned? 5 (97 Expedition, 01 Expedition, 05 F350SD, 09 F150, 16 F150)... 2018 F150 on order... if you want to include the "family" Fords, add another 3 (05 Escape, 08 Mariner, 17 Explorer Sport)
5- Approximately how many miles (or kilometres) do you drive your Ford per year? (Please indicate whether in miles or kilometres) 20,000mi./yr. on *my* Ford... another 20,000mi/yr. on hers.
6- Please indicate your current level of agreement with each of the following three statements by adding a numerical rating (i.e. 1=strongly disagree...7= strongly agree – please refer to the scale that follows):
Statements:
A. I think that Ford was the right choice. 6
B. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase of a Ford. 6
C. I believe that Ford is sometimes unable to meet my expectations. 7 (considering I'm working to get out of a vehicle that's plagued with problems, but Ford has refused to buy back despite multiple attempts)

Research results
First, thank-you very much to everyone who responded to my research request.
Your responses have been used to help understand car purchase behaviour and usage as well as opinions regarding the purchase. This information has been crucial in developing the full study which is now live and which I hope you will participate in. As you will see from the attached charts, I have compared data from a few brands. Please have a look and I'll be happy to answer any questions. It is important to note that for some brands, the sample size was fairly small and so the findings are directional. What was most valuable from your responses was information allowing me to see just how much variability there is in forum members' perceptions of whether they made the right choice. As you can see, these measures (choice, satisfaction, and meets expectations) are consistently highly positive which was expected but the degree of uniformity across brands was not. However, I did find more variability in the # of vehicles owned and the miles driven per year which is helpful for making sure I have appropriate parameters set for the full study.
With that said, I hope you will participate in the full study. All you need do is click the link I have added below. It will only take 15 minutes to complete. I think you will see the relationship between this study and the questions that you answered here. I also hope you will be interested in the questions on the survey. Once the large survey has been analyzed, I will come back and provide some results. And by all means, please feel free to forward the link to anyone you think might be interested.

Interesting study. You should compare the final results to reliability data to see which brand owner has the highest misconceptions about their vehicles.

Thanks,
Was thinking something along same lines. Reliability and satisfaction comparisons could work. I have been looking for data that shows the competitive situation for different brands- i.e.- how competitive the category is which might impact satisfaction.
