ABS Plastic and Alum. running boards
What's up with all the ABS plastic with aluminum channel running boards?
The OEM ones on the STX are flimsy plastic.
the ionic ones I bought were molded abs plastic with aluminum mounting channels. Easy to adjust, but don't seem very sturdy.
I been buying Westin boards forever. They're steel and power coated black, but they ARE heavy suckers.
ABS molded plastic seems more suspect to scratches.
These were $300, so they weren't cheap!!
What kind of running boards do you have on your '17 F150???? (metal or molded plastic)?
Picture for reference of running board only (not my truck).

I've got a '12, but have the Ionic factory style boards. A lot better than my stock chrome tubes. They are molded plastic over aluminum, zero problem, and have held up well. Don't know if they have them for '15-'17.
