Hey everyone. I'm debating on buying an 04 f150 4x4. 5.4l 80,000 miles. Wondering if I could get some input about these trucks. Things to look out for, Common problems, spark plug issues (I know 5.4s have a bad rap for that), what should i pay for it, pretty much anything. This would be my first Ford product ever. I used to not like fords until I started in the auto parts industry and realized there must be a reason so many companies have huge fleets of all Ford products. Like I said guys input would be great.

listen for bad cam phasers, look/listen for broken exhaust manifold, you might ask if plugs have been serviced (like you mentioned)... otherwise just basic wear and tear stuff that would break on any vehicle.... 80k is pretty low miles though..

Thanks for the input man. What do u get for fuel mileage?

make sure you get the plugs replaced, the cam phaser and timing chains, and VCT solenoids and FDMP Pump done before you purchase.
