95 4.9L Forgot to prime oil pump

Thank you for your help.
You have to pull the distributor. Then, unless you have on hand a hex shaft the same size as the pump drive, you must remove that piece from the distributor shaft.
If I mark the distributor casting and rotor in relation to the block will the timing be maintained if I do the above.
Will spinning the dry pump eventually prime itself? If that is true, then I can crank the engine with no plugs in place and do the same thing...? Will that create enough pressure to show on the oil pressure gauge?
